Judging from the present “crustal movements, water level observations, and earthquake occurrence situations”,
Max SI6 or more earthquake will not occur.


M5: SW offshore of Hokkaido – Offshore Niigata Prefecture (Max SI2)
  • Due to the effects from the “M5.8 / Max SI5 upper” quake on Apr. 9, possible M5 level quake in the Sea of Japan side of the Tohoku Region. Please stay alert.

M5: Mie Prefecture (Max SI5) *Ongoing (Middle – End of April)
  • Judging from the earthquake occurrence situation of the last 3 weeks, possible M5 level quake in the following week. Please stay alert.

M5: Western Shimane (Max SI4)
  • Due to the effects of the “M5.8 / Max SI5 upper” quake which occurred on Apr. 9, M5 class aftershocks are likely to continue this week. Please be careful.
